This acquisition gives SMBs a full line of integrated security solutions for web and
e-mail, with patent pending real-time stream-based scanning technology.
On the 17th December, NETGEAR acquired CP Secure a leading provider of integrated security appliances that protect organisations from Internet-originated web and e-mail based malware threats. CP Secure’s technology enables products that deliver web and e-mail security against malware, spyware, unauthorised web surfing, and SPAM in an easy-to-deploy, intuitive and feature-rich platform. With the acquisition of CP Secure NETGEAR will be able to offer SMBs a full line of security appliances for web, e-mail and unified threat management within the next twelve months.
Through this acquisition, customers will gain:
- A new line of NETGEAR ProSecure™ security solutions in conjunction with the current NETGEAR ProSafe® line of Wired and Wireless VPN Firewalls and SSL VPN Concentrator.
- World-class, worldwide support, ensuring confidence in their security investment.
- The integration of CP Secure’s patent-pending stream-based scanning technology which enables real-time scanning of high-volume web and e-mail traffic without degrading network performance, achieving up to five times better scanning performance than its competitors.
- Proven technology that has been successfully deployed and in use for the past 4 years in government, retail, and commercial verticals.
- Security appliances that deploy in a matter of minutes, run and update automatically, and are managed and monitored securely through the web.
- Enterprise-level security features: SMBs are exposed to the same security threats as enterprises, and can and should expect the same degree of comprehensive network protection.
- Security appliances that provide excellent value from day one and complement existing security products, thereby preserving and enhancing customers' past security investments.
